What's the best way to book your services, and what kind of deposit or payment do you usually ask for?
All bookings with By Kate Makeup Artistry are made via enquiry. Simply send your details through our contact form or message me directly, and I’ll guide you through the process to secure your date. A non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking, which secures your date and covers the personalised preparation for your trial and wedding day look. The remaining balance is due prior to the appointment.
How should I prepare my skin before my makeup appointment to get the best results?
To get the best results from your professional makeup application, healthy, well-prepped skin is key. In the days leading up to your appointment, focus on hydration and gentle care: moisturise daily to keep your skin smooth and radiant; exfoliate lightly a day or two before your appointment to remove dead skin cells; avoid trying new skincare treatments or products right before your wedding or trial to prevent reactions; and stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water — it helps your skin look plump and fresh. On the day, please arrive with a clean, moisturised face (no heavy creams or oils) so your makeup adheres perfectly and lasts longer.
For weddings, do you offer a trial makeup session? What's included and when's the best time to do it?
Yes, for our bridal bookings, trials are included in the price and are compulsory. This ensures we achieve your perfect look well in advance of your special day. I recommend booking your trial 4-8 weeks before your wedding day. Trial dates are subject to availability, so it's best to book these in early.
Do you travel to clients for their makeup appointments, and are there any travel fees involved?
By Kate Makeup Artistry only travels for bridal bookings on the Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas. Travel fees apply and are quoted dependent on your specific location, ensuring transparency for your wedding day planning.
